JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Seeking a full-time Civil Engineering Project Engineer in Brookings, SD.
  • Prepare designs, construction drawings, quantity take-offs, documents, reports, schedules, opinion of costs, and specifications for various projects.
  • Ability to interpret federal, state, and local requirements and apply to specific project needs.
  • Ability to consistently produce high quality construction documents.
  • Lead other engineers and technicians in project development.
  • Mentor EIT’s in the principles of design for the related engineering tasks.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients, contractors, government agencies, local authorities, and others as required to achieve a cohesive project.
  • Provide direction to survey crews and EIT’s on construction sites, perform routine construction observations to determine contractor conformance with the plans and specifications.
  • Assist in growing the business relationships with existing clients and developing new clients.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires 5+ years of experience in the design of municipal engineering, site design, hydraulic engineering, and/or bridge engineering projects (One or multiple areas of expertise preferred).
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
  • Licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) required or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Computer experience using Microsoft Office products and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Self-motivated team member with a positive attitude and ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
  • Ability to lead engineers and technicians in the development of successful projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have permanent authorization to work in the United States.
  • Valid driver’s license & ability to travel to various job sites, as required.
  • Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Seeking a full-time Manager of Railroad Site Design & Projects in Brookings, SD.
  • Reports directly to the Managing Partner.
  • Conduct preliminary engineering activities to identify the need for an engineering project.
  • Prepare feasibility studies, opinion of costs, and other reports as required by the Managing Partner.
  • Examines survey reports, drawings, maps, blueprints, aerial photos, and other geologic or topographical data for the study of projects.
  • Design assigned engineering projects under the direction of the managing partner or project engineer, incorporating policies, standards and specifications to create cost effective projects.
  • Participates in preliminary on-site reviews.
  • Review rail plan designs.
  • Coordinates assigned construction projects under the direction of the MP to ensure deadlines are met and projects are completed according to plans.
  • Respond to engineering questions posed by developers, citizens and staff members.
  • Inspect construction sites to see progress and to ensure that the projects meet design requirements and standards.
  • Prepares railroad facility analysis and inspection under the direction of the Managing Partner.
  • Evaluates and recommends materials, products, technologies, and procedures.
  • Compiles and analyzes data and prepares reports.
  • Coordinates and participates in inspections and meetings to acquire information pertinent to studies.
  • Assist in growing the business relationships with existing clients and developing new clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned under the direction of the Managing Partner.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires 5+ years of railroad operational and/or project management experience.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent in experience considered.
  • Computer experience using Microsoft Office products and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Knowledge and use of codes and standards as they apply to construction observation.
  • Self-motivated team member with a positive attitude and ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have permanent authorization to work in the United States.
  • Valid driver’s license & ability to travel to various job sites, as required.
  • Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Seeking a full-time Civil Engineering Engineer-in-Training in Brookings, SD.
  • Prepare designs, construction drawings, quantity take-offs, documents, reports, schedules, opinion of costs, and specifications for various projects under the direction of a licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Assist in the design and plan development of a project utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Provide direction to the CAD drafting technicians to successfully develop construction drawings.
  • Provide direction to the survey crew on necessary data collection and construction staking for projects.
  • Review drafting and survey work of the Civil Engineering Technicians.
  • Assist the Professional Engineer with client meetings as required for projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned under the direction of a licensed Professional Engineer.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires 0-4 years of experience in the design of transportation & municipal engineering, site design, hydraulic engineering, and/or bridge engineering projects (One or more areas of expertise preferred).

JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Seeking a full-time Civil Engineering Technician in Brookings, SD.
  • Prepare construction drawings, plan layouts, quantity take-offs, & grading plans for projects of varying complexities with the use of AutoCAD Civil 3D under the direction of a licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Process preliminary survey data to be used in construction plan preparation.
  • Ability to make basic calculations used to prepare and maintain accurate engineering records.
  • Conduct survey activities including topographic, boundary, and construction staking for various projects.
  • Prepare boundary exhibits and plats under the direction of a registered Land Surveyor.
  • Other duties as assigned under the direction of a licensed Professional Engineer or Land Surveyor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, related field of study, or equivalent experience.
  • Computer experience using Microsoft Office products, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Trimble.

  • Must have the ability to understand and interpret engineering plans and specifications.

JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Seeking a full-time Bridge Engineer in Brookings, SD.
  • Prepare designs, construction drawings, quantity take-offs, documents, reports, schedules, opinion of costs, and specifications for various projects under the direction of a licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Design of highway bridges & box culverts in accordance with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.
  • Design of railroad bridges & miscellaneous structures in accordance with the AREMA Manual.
  • Conduct highway and railroad bridge inspections onsite with the Bridge Inspection Team Leader.
  • Assist the Professional Engineer with client meetings as required for projects.
  • Perform construction administration services including observation, reporting, material & quantity verification, pay invoices, meetings, & other tasks as required on bridge construction sites.
  • Perform other duties as assigned under the direction of a licensed Professional Engineer.
